OVERCOMING ANXIETY AND DESTROYING THE WORKS OF THE DEVIL PART 2 ABOUT ANXIETY! The reason the Son of God was made manifest (visible) was to undo (destroy, loosen, and dissolve) the works the devil [has done]. 1 John 3:8 JESUS CAME TO DESTROY THE WORKS OF THE DEVIL! THE POWER OF GOD'S WORD HAS ALL AUTHORITY TO DESTROY THE WORKS OF THE DEVIL! We saw in the last note how David had made the weapon (sword of Goliath) which brought him victory over his last battle with Goliath, cutting the enemy’s head off, became a trophy for David’s now present attack of the enemy causing him to run into the enemy’s camp looking like a madman that had lost his mind. We know that in the end there is victory therefore let us press in to see the victory of God Almighty over anxiety! So David departed and escaped to the cave of Adullam: and when his brothers and all his father’s house heard it, they went down there to him. 2 And everyone in distress or in debt or discontented gathered to him, and he became a commander over them. And there were with him about 400 men. 3 And David went from there to Mizpah of Moab; and he said to the king of Moab, Let my father [of Moabite descent] and my mother, I pray you, come out [of Judah] and be with you till I know what God will do for me. 4 And he brought them before the king of Moab, and they dwelt with him all the while that David was in the stronghold [in Moab]. 5 Then the prophet Gad said to David, Do not remain in the stronghold; leave, and get into the land of Judah. So David left and went into the forest of Hareth. 1 Samuel 22:1-5 David leaves from the place of being a madman in front of the Philistines where anxiety had gotten a hold of him causing him to look foolish and escapes to Adullam. Adullam means “sealed off place.” (http://www.studylight.org/dic/hbd/view.cgi?number=T139) The sealed off place is the stronghold of GOD; He is our Shield and our Defense! When David’s brothers and his father’s house heard about David, they gathered to him because of their distress and discontent!!! Do you see this; there is a transition with David. No longer is DavId going to settle and let anxiety rule him, but rather he is going to confront it. Moreover, his brothers see that he has already got the victory in his heart! As a result, they join to him and at this point David is REPRODUCING, BEARING FRUIT OF GOD’S WORD not only in his life but the lives of others!!!!! Likewise, when we begin to reproduce the fruit of God’s Word in power and are anxious for nothing, it then gives courage to others to stand their ground, being discontent with the distress of the enemy, the lies of the enemy against their soul from their past accusing them – the accuser of the brethren (symbolized by debt)! Do you see this? Anxiety has been conquered already in David’s heart at this point but now we have to see the manifestation of it! The 400 that were gathered to David indicates God’s fullness of authority being manifested! (4 x 100). David went from Mizpah to Moab to speak to the Moabite king in order that David’s father and mother would be able to dwell there in safety until David knew what to do. We have to realize that David’s family was at Judah and he wanted them to come out of Judah because at that time their lives were in danger. David wanted his family protected until the matter was dealt with by the Living God. In order to clear his mind fro the occasion with the Philistines where David acted like a madman, he went to Mizpah until he heard from GOD! David was going to inquire of the Lord! Are you ready to run because this is going to blow your mind! Mizpah means “observatory for military purposes – watch tower.” (Strong’s Concordance Hebrew Word # 4709/#4707). This word comes from the word meaning “to lean forward, (i.e. to peer into the distance), to observe, await, behold, espy, look up (well), wait for, (keep the) watch, watchman.” (Strong’s Concordance Hebrew Word # 6822). David went to wait upon the Lord God, to look up to where his help came! David went from letting the anxiety control him to now seeking the Lord God. This position of seeking the Lord caused David to lean not on his own understanding but lean forward upon the Lord God and acknowledge Him so God Almighty would direct his path! (Proverbs 3:5-6) This is the position of all watchmen, is waiting upon the Lord and as they do they can peer forward into the distance by God Almighty to see the hope to which He has called them and the Bride, which is to SEE THE GREATNESS OF GOD THAT IS SOON TO MANIFEST!!!!!!!!!!!! God is our strong Tower and our Defense and we run into Him and are protected! When we turn away from the anxiety that would control us and instead run into God we then begin to hear from Him! WHAT DOES THE WORD SAY ABOUT YOUR FUTURE???!!!!! IT SAYS YOU ARE THE HEAD AND NOT THE TAIL, YOU ARE ABOVE AND NOT BENEATH!!!! LEAN INTO THE FUTURE ON GOD'S WORD TO KNOW WHO YOU ARE IN CHRIST JESUS! 2 Fair and beautiful in elevation, is the joy of all the earth—Mount Zion [the City of David], to the northern side [Mount Moriah and the temple], the [whole] city of the Great King! 3 God has made Himself known in her palaces as a Refuge (a High Tower and a Stronghold). Psalm 48:2-3 The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the [consistently] righteous man [upright and in right standing with God] runs into it and is safe, high [above evil] and strong. Proverbs 18:10 As David made the Lord God his Strong Tower then there is a shift; the prophetic (PROPHETIC WORD- THAT DAVID LEANED UPON IN GOD WHICH CAUSED HIM TO PEER INTO THE DISTANCE - FUTURE) came to David through the prophet Gad for David to leave and go into the Land of Judah! Oh my you are going to jump and shout with this revelation! As David waited upon the Lord God not leaning on his own understanding but instead leaning forward upon God, he was able to hear the Lord and get the prophetic word (direction) in which he was to walk and it was to go into the Land of Judah!!!!!! Are you ready because we all know that Judah means praise!!! But did you know that Gad indicates being a son of Jacob, a son of the promise and that his name means “to crowd upon, attack, invade, OVERCOME!” Glory to God as David waited on the Lord God, God’s overcoming Power came to him!!!!!!!! It is not by our power or our might but it is by God’s Spirit that we get victory!!!!!! That is what David remembered and he put down his trophy of the sword of Goliath, knowing that it was not going to be by his own hand that victory came but only by One, God Almighty!!! As David waited on the Lord God the power of God Almighty came upon him to overcome the enemy! Gad told David to get out of Mizpah and get into the Land of Judah! As we wait upon the Lord God and He brings forth His power to overcome it is going to manifest through GOD’S PRAISE IN US BY THE TESTIMONY WE ARE ABLE TO DECLARE!!! No warrior gets the victory first on the battlefield; first they get it in their heart! The victory comes to the heart first, because somehow there is a knowing that before the battle is finished, it is finished! That is the praise that David is breaking into, the Praise to God Almighty Who is the Lord of the Battle!!!!!! God being Lord of the Battle, Lord Sabaoth never loses!!!!!!! That is what David got a revelation of is Lord Sabaoth, God being Lord of Host, Lord of the Battle!!!!! Who is the King of Glory, the Lord Strong and Mighty, the Lord Mighty in Battle! He is the King of Glory!!!! (Psalm 24). David knew God as Lord Sabaoth but had to come place without realizing where the anxiety he previously had, caused him to forget that truth! However, as David ran into the Lord as his Strong Tower he came back to that place of knowing God as Lord Sabaoth! 4 [But] look! [Here are] the wages that you have withheld by fraud from the laborers who have reaped your fields, crying out [for vengeance]; and the cries of the harvesters have come to the ears of the Lord of hosts. James 5:4 Vengeance is the Lord God’s and not ours! No where are we to take vengeance for it is not our portion but rather we are to run into God and He will bring forth the Acceptable Year of the Lord’s Favor and the Day of Vengeance on our behalf! It is Isaiah 61!!!!! David ran into the forest of Hareth. Hareth in Hebrew means “to engrave -graven.” (Strong’s Concordance Hebrew Word #2801/2800). David had to get to a place to REMEMBER without doubt that he is not forsaken and moreover that his name is written upon the Lord God, it is ENGRAVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 14 But Zion [Jerusalem, her people as seen in captivity] said, The Lord has forsaken me, and my Lord has forgotten me. 15 [And the Lord answered] Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yes, they may forget, yet I will not forget you. 16 Behold, I have indelibly imprinted (tattooed a picture of) you on the palm of each of My hands; [O Zion] your walls are continually before Me. Isaiah 49:14-16 AMP The King James Version uses the word “graven.” 16 Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me. Isaiah 49:16 KJV. Graven here means “to enact, to hack, prescribe, appoint, decree, governor, grave, lawgiver, print, set.” (Strong’s Concordance Hebrew Word #2710). God has decreed our destiny, He has printed and set our call, He has prescribed every step we take! That is where David is now, is walking the Destiny of God’s Greatness which is about to manifest and overcome the enemy! Knowing who we are causes the anxiety within us to be hacked away by the Living Word, the engraved Word of God in our hearts! 6 Saul heard that David was discovered, and the men that were with him. Saul was sitting in Gibeah under the tamarisk tree on the height, his spear in his hand and all his servants standing about him.7 Saul said to his servants who stood about him, Hear now, you Benjamites! Will the son of Jesse give every one of you fields and vineyards and make you all commanders of thousands and hundreds,8 That all of you have conspired against me? No one discloses to me when my son makes a league with the son of Jesse. None of you is sorry for me or discloses that my son has stirred up my servant against me to lie in wait, as he does this day? 1Samuel 22:6-9 Saul, David’s enemy is still pursuing David because of the tormenting spirit, but this time David is secure in God’s Strong Tower being lifted up by God to let God be Lord of the battle. Saul is angry because David is causing the produce/fruit of the greatness of God to be made manifest now in others!!!!! The enemy is not threatened if you stay small and do not reproduce fruit of the seed of Christ Jesus, God’s Word in Power which is the Greatness of God on display! However, when you start having fruit produce then he gets mad. That is what Saul is now mocking about is David making the Benjamites owners of fields and vineyards and making them commanders of thousands and hundreds! Benjamin means son of the right hand, indicating favor and authority! David was causing others to know their favor with God and the acceptable year of the Lord’s Favor and the Day of Vengeance of God which would bring victory and overcoming power to everyone! This is what Saul did not want to happen. Saul’s son, Jonathan made a covenant with David (beloved) and now others were, too. ANXIETY BRINGS TROUBLE Then Doeg the Edomite, who stood with Saul’s servants, said, I saw the son of Jesse come to Nob, to Ahimelech son of Ahitub. 10 And [Ahimelech] inquired of the Lord for him, and gave him provisions and the sword of Goliath the Philistine. 11 Then the king sent to call Ahimelech the priest, the son of Ahitub, and all his father’s house, the priests who were at Nob, and they all came to the king. 12 Saul said, Hear now, you son of Ahitub. He replied, Here I am, my lord. 13 Saul said to him, Why have you conspired against me, you and the son of Jesse, giving him bread and a sword and inquiring of God for him, so he could rise against me to lie in wait, as he does this day? 14 Then Ahimelech answered the king, And who is so faithful among all your servants as David, who is the king’s son-in-law, and is taken into your council and honored in your house? 15 Have I only today begun inquiring of God for him? No! Let not the king impute any wrong to his servant or to all the house of my father, for your servant has known nothing of all this, little or much. 16 [Saul] said, You shall surely die, Ahimelech, you and all your father’s house. 17 And the king said to the guard that stood about him, Turn and slay the Lord’s priests, because their hand also is with David and because they knew that he fled and did not disclose it to me. But the servants of the king would not put forth their hands against the Lord’s priests. 18 The king said to Doeg, You turn and fall upon the priests. And Doeg the Edomite turned and attacked the priests and slew that day eighty-five persons who wore the priest’s linen ephod. 19 And Nob, the city of the priests, he smote with the sword; both men and women, children and sucklings, oxen and donkeys and sheep, he put to the sword. 1 Samuel 22:6-19 Ahimelech is associated here with his father, Ahitub. Ahitub means “brother of goodness.” (Strong’s Concordance Hebrew Word # 285). Ahimelech means “brother of the king.” Therefore, here when we walk in the goodness of God, we then walk in the power and authority of God, indicated by brother of the king. That is what satan does not want! God, before He showed Moses His glory, hid him in the cleft of the rock and told Moses that He would cause His GOODNESS to pass before Moses. Therefore, goodness here is likened to God’s Glory, God’s Greatness! This is what anxiety wants to destroy because it is the fruit and produce of God in the earth! This is demonstrated when Doeg, meaning anxious, tells Saul what Ahimelech did for David. Saul then gets so mad he orders the men to slay the priest. However, because of reverence toward God, Saul’s men would not do it. The one that was truly anxious here was SAUL because of his own jealousy toward David and it was from that anxiety that the fear in Saul, caused murder to arise in his heart toward both David, and those that conspired with him. We can look at it from this point of view, the enemy wants to come against the goodness of God in our lives (steal our praise) so we do not have anything to praise God about. The enemy does not want others to see the goodness of God in our lives!!!! WE OVERCOME BY THE BLOOD OF THE LAMB AND THE WORD OF OUR TESTIMONY!!!!!! The greatness of God is the testimony you have in your belly that lets out a HIGH PRAISE that completely destroys the works of the devil!!!! That is what the enemy is after so what does he do to kill it in you? He brings anxiety to put you in fear. People are set free by the power of God’s Word, the Testimony in you, which causes them to overcome, rising up and shining in the light of Christ Jesus so they too can release the greatness of God, the glory of God in their lives to shine in the earth!!!!!!! The accuser of the brethren would love to get you in a mock trial and accuse you but don't you enter a mock trial; NO MAN IS TO JUDGE YOUR SPIRIT! THAT IS WHY YOU HAVE TO RESOLVE TO KNOW CHRIST JESUS AND HIM CRUCIFIED!!!!!! WE SEE IN DANIEL THAT IS THE SCHEME OF THE ENEMY! 25 And he shall speak words against the Most High [God] and shall WEAR out the saints of the Most High and think to change the time [of sacred feasts and holy days] and the law; and the saints shall be given into his hand for a time, two times, and half a time [three and one-half years]. Daniel 7:25 Have you ever been in a meeting where someone gave their testimony that the power of God hit you and nearly knocked you off your feet? I HAVE!!!!! Let me TESTIFY!!! GLORY TO GOD!!!! I was at The Call in Alabama in 2008 or 2009; 22 IS 22 (Isaiah 22:22 Company) our ministry went for the entire day to pray for our state and nation. While my youngest son, Matthew, and I were up at the front worshiping God and praying a young man stepped up from the Ramp Ministry of Karen Wheaton to give his testimony. I happened to be right in front and the first person directly in his eye view. All the while this young man began to give his testimony I began to feel an excitement, a stirring, a churning a bubbling up in my spirit that began to lift me up out of my present circumstances of being less than, being broke, and being pressed down. Before I knew it this young man got to the last two sentences in his testimony and I cannot even explain it but I felt it!!!!! This huge power ball is all I can think of came upon me and hit me so hard in the stomach area (my belly) that it nearly knocked me off my feet but instead it swelled up in me and all I could do was shout GLORY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GLORY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HALLELUJAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HALLELUJAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I tell you truly I could not stop shouting and praising God!!!!!!!!! We overcome by the Blood of the Lamb and the Word of our Testimony!!!!! The Word of the Greatness of God!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is when God showed me the power, the wonder working power of the overcomer in the Greatness of God, which comes through the Testimony of a Saint!!!! Oh my, moreover I got a call yesterday from a brother and sister who have received massive miracles as of late in their life and their testimony hit me too and I felt like I could run because this is what I know!!!!!!!!!!!! The power of the Testimony is the Declaration, the Engraving, the Appointment, The Prescribing of GOD’S GREATNESS IN OUR LIFE!!!!!!!!!! It is a yoke destroying anointing that sets people free!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!It is God's Covenant, His Word manifested! 10 Then I heard a strong (loud) voice in heaven, saying, Now it has come—the salvation and the power and the kingdom (the dominion, the reign) of our God, and the power (the sovereignty, the authority) of His Christ (the Messiah); for the accuser of our brethren, he who keeps bringing before our God charges against them day and night, has been cast out! 11 And they have overcome (conquered) him by means of the blood of the Lamb and by the utterance of their testimony, for they did not love and cling to life even when faced with death [holding their lives cheap till they had to die for their witnessing]. Revelation 12:10-11 That is why Doeg was the one that rose up his weapon to slay the priest, women and children. Because it is only anxiety by the enemy (anxious/Doeg) that can kill our power to overcome! It is only anxiety that can prevent the Goodness of God and the manifestation of His power in our lives!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anxiety wants to get rid of every good thing God has done in your life so you do not testify!!!!! David had to get to Mizpah and from there being in God’s Strong Tower, David had to get his praise back, the power to overcome! It is no different for us! Anxiety flees at the sound of praise! That is what the enemy is after! 20 And one of the sons of Ahimelech son of Ahitub named Abiathar escaped and fled after David. 21 And Abiathar told David that Saul had slain the Lord’s priests. 22 David said to Abiathar, I knew that day, when Doeg the Edomite was there, that he would surely tell Saul. I have occasioned the death of all your father’s house. 23 Stay with me, fear not; for he who seeks my life seeks your life. But with me you shall be safeguarded. Abithar tell’s David about what Saul had done to the priests. David revealed to Abiathar that he knew when he saw “Doeg” that Saul would be informed. Saul represents fear in our lives but Doeg represents anxiety (unrealistic fear). However, if we give into anxiety that is unrealistic fear before you know it that which we have “feared” will come upon us, as we see with Job. That is what David knew and that is what David overcame! David in overcoming his own temptation to be anxious, became a strong tower of God’s Greatness that would safe guard others. Likewise, as we overcome the temptation to be anxious, somehow others see the Greatness of God, the peace of God in our lives that they are drawn to it and it is in that place that we produce/bring forth fruit of God’s greatness, of the Word in Power! Therefore, press into God as your Strong Tower and in that place wait upon Him and He will bring forth the overcoming power of His Word, His Greatness that will lift you up and send you forth into the call to see the prescribing of God’s Greatness made manifest in your life!!!!! In this place of God’s Goodness the enemy is overcome, Doeg/Anxious/Anxiety is overcome and we see this clearly in the Psalm that David wrote regarding Doeg. Declare this over yourself in faith knowing that God is Lord Sabaoth, He is Lord of the Battle in your life, the Lord of Host and He will defeat the enemy as you rise up and overcome in the blood of the Lamb and the Word of your testimony about the Greatness of God in your life!!!! Yesterday our air conditioner went out in our car and God said “Robin Praise Me!” I said Glory to God I have something to praise You about, because you are about to give us a miracle! Do you need healing in your body? Do not let anxiety overtake you but let out a high praise of God’s greatness in your life! Do you need financial provision to make it? Do not let anxiety overtake you but let out a high praise of God’s greatness about what He has done and what He is about to do! Declare God’s Word, His Truth! In every circumstance BE ANXIOUS FOR NOTHING! BUT LET OUT THE POWER OF GOD’S GREATNESS COME FORTH AS A HIGH PRAISE IN YOUR MOUTH TO REPRODUCE THE FRUIT OF GOD’S WORD IN POWER IN THE EARTH! Psalm 52 To the Chief Musician. A skillful song, or a didactic or reflective poem. [A Psalm] of David, when Doeg the Edomite came and told Saul, David has come to the house of Ahimelech. 1 Why boast you of mischief done against the loving-kindness of God [and the godly], O mighty [sinful] man, day after day? 2 Your tongue devises wickedness; it is like a sharp razor, working deceitfully. 3 You love evil more than good, and lying rather than to speak righteousness, justice, and right. Selah [pause, and calmly think of that]! 4 You love all destroying and devouring words, O deceitful tongue. 5 God will likewise break you down and destroy you forever; He will lay hold of you and pluck you out of your tent and uproot you from the land of the living. Selah [pause, and calmly think of that]! 6 The [uncompromisingly] righteous also shall see [it] and be in reverent fear and awe, but about you they will [scoffingly] laugh, saying, 7 See, this is the man who made not God his strength (his stronghold and high tower) but trusted in and confidently relied on the abundance of his riches, seeking refuge and security for himself through his wickedness. 8 But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God; I trust in and confidently rely on the loving-kindness and the mercy of God forever and ever. 9 I will thank You and confide in You forever, because You have done it [delivered me and kept me safe]. I will wait on, hope in and expect in Your name, for it is good, in the presence of Your saints (Your kind and pious ones). PSALM 52:1-9 To get through this trial we are to simply keep our eyes on Jesus and stay crucified in Him!!!!!! That is what Paul resolved to do! In so doing we obtain the very mind of Christ Jesus, the mind of God and in this position to know God's thoughts , which is to prosper us and not harm us, to bring us a hope and a future! If we seek God with all our heart, mind, soul and strength we will find HIM! (Jeremiah 29:11-13) 1 As for myself, brethren, when I came to you, I did not come proclaiming to you the testimony and evidence or mystery and secret of God [concerning what He has done through Christ for the salvation of men] in lofty words of eloquence or human philosophy and wisdom; 2 For I resolved to know nothing (to be acquainted with nothing, to make a display of the knowledge of nothing, and to be conscious of nothing) among you except Jesus Christ (the Messiah) and Him crucified. 3 And I was in (passed into a state of) weakness and fear (dread) and great trembling [after I had come] among you. 4 And my language and my message were not set forth in persuasive (enticing and plausible) words of wisdom, but they were in demonstration of the [Holy] Spirit and power [a proof by the Spirit and power of God, operating on me and stirring in the minds of my hearers the most holy emotions and thus persuading them], 5 So that your faith might not rest in the wisdom of men (human philosophy), but in the power of God. 6 Yet when we are among the full-grown (spiritually mature Christians who are ripe in understanding), we do impart a [higher] wisdom (the knowledge of the divine plan previously hidden); but it is indeed not a wisdom of this present age or of this world nor of the leaders and rulers of this age, who are being brought to nothing and are doomed to pass away. 7 But rather what we are setting forth is a wisdom of God once hidden [from the human understanding] and now revealed to us by God—[that wisdom] which God devised and decreed before the ages for our glorification [to lift us into the glory of His presence]. 8 None of the rulers of this age or world perceived and recognized and understood this, for if they had, they would never have crucified the Lord of glory. 9 But, on the contrary, as the Scripture says, What eye has not seen and ear has not heard and has not entered into the heart of man, [all that] God has prepared (made and keeps ready) for those who love Him [who hold Him in affectionate reverence, promptly obeying Him and gratefully recognizing the benefits He has bestowed]. 10 Yet to us God has unveiled and revealed them by and through His Spirit, for the [Holy] Spirit searches diligently, exploring and examining everything, even sounding the profound and bottomless things of God [the divine counsels and things hidden and beyond man’s scrutiny]. 11 For what person perceives (knows and understands) what passes through a man’s thoughts except the man’s own spirit within him? Just so no one discerns (comes to know and comprehend) the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. 12 Now we have not received the spirit [that belongs to] the world, but the [Holy] Spirit Who is from God, [given to us] that we might realize and comprehend and appreciate the gifts [of divine favor and blessing so freely and lavishly] bestowed on us by God. 13 And we are setting these truths forth in words not taught by human wisdom but taught by the [Holy] Spirit, combining and interpreting spiritual truths with spiritual language [to those who possess the Holy Spirit]. 14 But the natural, nonspiritual man does not accept or welcome or admit into his heart the gifts and teachings and revelations of the Spirit of God, for they are folly (meaningless nonsense) to him; and he is incapable of knowing them [of progressively recognizing, understanding, and becoming better acquainted with them] because they are spiritually discerned and estimated and appreciated. 15 But the spiritual man tries all things [he examines, investigates, inquires into, questions, and discerns all things], yet is himself to be put on trial and judged by no one [he can read the meaning of everything, but no one can properly discern or appraise or get an insight into him]. 16 For who has known or understood the mind (the counsels and purposes) of the Lord so as to guide and instruct Him and give Him knowledge?
