TO GOD’S WORD HEED, DO NOT GIVE INTO GREED! APPROPRIATE GOD’S GRACE, DO NOT GIVE THE ENEMY ANY PLACE! By: Robin Kirby-Gatto 7/22/13 God had me reading different passages in the Word when all of a sudden what do you suspect happened? He revealed to me a revelation about the hour in which His judgments are upon the ministries of those who proclaim to Minister for the Lord but have instead touched His glory with their own flesh, only because of pleasing others, pleasing man. God in this hour is removing His lampstand from those ministries that have given over into mammon and have not repented from that which is in their own heart, which are two things 1) pleasing man and 2) being greedy by the spirit of mammon. We see in scripture Jesus indicates that you cannot serve two masters. No servant is able to serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will stand by and be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon (riches, or anything in which you trust and on which you rely). Luke 16:13 No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will stand by and be devoted to the one and despise and be against the other. You cannot serve God and mammon (deceitful riches, money, possessions, or whatever is trusted in). Matthew 6:24 In this hour you will know which God ministers of the Gospel are serving, rather it is the Lord God or if it is the spirit of mammon. With that being said, God is bringing His judgments right now on those ministries because they simply are man building their own kingdoms and the reason they are doing so is because of two reasons 1) pleasing others and 2) mammon. The heart motives of ministers of the Gospel who are not serving the Lord God will be exposed in this hour and their ministries will crumble because the Lord says it is a profanity in His House. We will look at this revelation through the story of Naaman and Gehazi. NAAMAN IN NEED OF GRACE Naaman, commander of the army of the king of Syria, was a great man with his master, accepted [and acceptable], because by him the Lord had given victory to Syria. He was also a mighty man of valor, but he was a leper. 2 The Syrians had gone out in bands and had brought away captive out of the land of Israel a little maid, and she waited on Naaman’s wife. 3 She said to her mistress, Would that my lord were with the prophet who is in Samaria! For he would heal him of his leprosy. 4 [Naaman] went in and told his king, Thus and thus said the maid from Israel. 5 And the king of Syria said, Go now, and I will send a letter to the king of Israel. And he departed and took with him ten talents of silver, 6,000 shekels of gold, and ten changes of raiment. 6 And he brought the letter to the king of Israel. It said, When this letter comes to you, I will with it have sent to you my servant Naaman, that you may cure him of leprosy. 7 When the king of Israel read the letter, he rent his clothes and said, Am I God, to kill and to make alive, that this man sends to me to heal a man of his leprosy? Just consider and see how he is seeking a quarrel with me. 8 When Elisha the man of God heard that the king of Israel had rent his clothes, he sent to the king, asking, Why have you rent your clothes? Let Naaman come now to me and he shall know that there is a prophet in Israel. 2 Kings 5:1-8 Here, we see Naaman who is the commander of the king of Syria stricken with leprosy which has caused him dishonor, disease, and discomfort. The maiden taken from the land of Israel during the time that Syria took captives out of the land was a servant in Naaman’s house and instructed Naaman’s wife to that she desired for Naaman to be with the prophet in Samaria because if it were so then Naaman would be healed. When Naaman heard of this exhortation by the maiden he then pursues the meeting by going first to the king of Syria and telling him of what the maiden said. Upon hearing the maiden’s words the king of Syria immediately sends for Naaman to go to the prophet of Samaria by first petitioning the king of Israel with a letter from the king of Syria for the healing of his servant Naaman. The king of Israel upon hearing such an appeal from the king of Syria and is overwhelmed for he knew not what to do to heal this man. However, Elisha sends a servant forth to beckon Naaman to come and be healed by the Word of the Lord through the prophet. Naaman in Hebrew means “pleasantness, pleasant” (Strong’s Concordance Hebrew Words # 5283 & # 5282). It comes from the Hebrew word meaning “agreeableness, delight, suitableness, splendor or GRACE – beauty, pleasant. (Hebrew Word # 5276). Therefore, Naaman here represents the GRACE given by God. Grace is God’s Favor and HIS POWER! Therefore when we see the scripture of Hebrews 4:16 and running to God’s throne of Grace, it is to obtain mercy (the Blood atoning power of Jesus – that covers all iniquity) and brings forth God’s Grace, His power!!!!! God’s mercy brings forth His Power, His Grace! \ 11 Let us therefore be zealous and exert ourselves and strive diligently to enter that rest [of God, to know and experience it for ourselves], that no one may fall or perish by the same kind of unbelief and disobedience [into which those in the wilderness fell]. 12 For the Word that God speaks is alive and full of power [making it active, operative, energizing, and effective]; it is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating to the dividing line of the breath of life (soul) and [the immortal] spirit, and of joints and marrow [of the deepest parts of our nature], exposing and sifting and analyzing and judging the very thoughts and purposes of the heart. 13 And not a creature exists that is concealed from His sight, but all things are open and exposed, naked and defenseless to the eyes of Him with Whom we have to do. 14 Inasmuch then as we have a great High Priest Who has [already] ascended and passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession [of faith in Him]. 15 For we do not have a High Priest Who is unable to understand and sympathize and have a shared feeling with our weaknesses and infirmities and liability to the assaults of temptation, but One Who has been tempted in every respect as we are, yet without sinning. 16 Let us then fearlessly and confidently and boldly draw near to the throne of grace (the throne of God’s unmerited favor to us sinners), that we may receive mercy [for our failures] and find grace to help in good time for every need [appropriate help and well-timed help, coming just when we need it]. Hebrews 4:11-16 The Hebrews rest of God, is a place whereby we come to an end of the works of the flesh and we walk in the spirit, no longer fulfilling the lust of the flesh or the eyes, nor the pride of life but rather we come to a place whereby God’s Sword of the Spirit, His Word pierces our heart and comes to sift and expose that which is of iniquitous roots or carnal nature (sin) that would cause us to walk in unbelief and disobedience! It causes us to run to the throne of Grace boldly to obtain the power of the Blood of Jesus to remove our failures (root structures of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, root structures that are lies of the enemy) and obtain God’s Power, His grace to cause us to walk in the spirit! God’s grace is His power, His sufficiency!!!!! What taints the power of God’s Grace, profanes it, is the carnal nature (sin). Therefore, when we see Naaman here God showed me that he represents God’s grace that is available. However, here there is a problem with grace being appropriated fully because Naaman has leprosy, he is unclean. When we look at the Gospel, Jesus said that one of the things believers would be able to do is cleanse lepers. 7 And as you go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand! 8 Cure the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, drive out demons. Freely (without pay) you have received, freely (without charge) give. Matthew 10:7-8. Lepers cleansed in the natural indicating the removing of sin nature in the spirit, the carnal man, where we are made a new creation. When we see the Old Testament requirements of a leper being removed from the community it was due to the fact that the leper was UNCLEAN. Therefore, when we look at lepers in this context we are looking at that which is unclean, that which profanes God. Naaman was being sent by the King of Syria with an entourage and loaded with riches. Syria in Hebrew means “the highland” and is likened unto the Hebrew word ‘armôwn which means “to be elevated, from its heights, a castle, a palace.” (Strong’s Concordance Hebrew Words # 758 & # 759). God showed me that the gifts or riches that were coming with Naaman were that which was from a high place, something elevated above Almighty God. Therefore, anything which exalts itself above the Lord in ministry will be considered profane and unclean, spiritual leprosy! Do you see this?!!! Naaman’s leprosy was a condition of the spirit of that which man had elevated above the Lord God. However, when Naaman humbled himself to the Word of the Lord through a maid servant he then began by having a move, a transition, out of that which would profane God into being moved to see the manifested Glory of God! ALL RICHES OF MAN, THE SPIRIT OF MAMMON CANNOT COME NEAR THE HOLY! 9 So Naaman came with his horses and chariots and stopped at Elisha’s door. 10 Elisha sent a messenger to him, saying, Go and wash in the Jordan seven times, and your flesh shall be restored and you shall be clean. 11 But Naaman was angry and went away and said, Behold, I thought he would surely come out to me and stand and call on the name of the Lord his God, and wave his hand over the place and heal the leper. 12 Are not Abana and Pharpar, the rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? May I not wash in them and be clean? So he turned and went away in a rage. 13 And his servants came near and said to him, My father, if the prophet had bid you to do some great thing, would you not have done it? How much rather, then, when he says to you, Wash and be clean? 14 Then he went down and dipped himself seven times in the Jordan, as the man of God had said, and his flesh was restored like that of a little child, and he was clean. 2 Kings 5:9-14 AMP Naaman coming in his horses and chariots, signifies man’s strength, man’s favor, man’s grace. Elisha did not even come out and meet the man but rather sent out his servant to give the Word of the Lord to Naaman so that he would be healed of the leprosy. What Elisha’s words were is that Naaman’s flesh would be restored and he would be “MADE CLEAN!” Clean here in hebrew is tâhêr and means “to be bright, to be pure, sound, clear, unadulterated, uncontaminated, innocent or HOLY!!!!!! Clean, cleanse (self), purge, purify (self).” (Strong’s Concordance Hebrew Word # 2891). Therefore, clean here represents Holy. God purges us from all that is exalted by man, man’s riches, man’s power, man’s strength in order that it will not contaminate that which is Holy, for we are the temple of the Holy Spirit. Naaman here is mad because the prophet Elisha did not come out and PERFORM or ENTERTAIN the flesh, the polluted flesh, that which was not grace!!!!!! DO YOU SEE THIS!!!!! Naaman wanted the prophet to come out and wave his hand over him to make him clean. The unholy and unclean wanted to profane and touch God’s glory by trying to manipulate the anointing!!!!! DO YOU SEE THIS? False grace, man’s flesh that is deceived thinking it knows how God is to perform wanted to cause a performance act out of God’s anointing, creating a show or entertainment so that flesh could get the glory!!!! Elisha would have nothing to do with the show of man, the show of flesh, otherwise known as PLEASING MAN!!!!!! PLEASING THE FLESH!!!! How many ministries have become a performance hall and a three ring circus to profane the anointing in order to please and gratify the flesh!!!! We see this with the fact that it was 6,000 gold shekels in which Naaman carried. 6 representing here the flesh and 1,000 x 6 indicating that the flesh will bring a thousand fold, which we know that it cannot bring forth anything GOOD!!!!! It is the contrary context of the enemy to pervert Deuteronomy 1:11, God’s thousand fold. The flesh throws a temper tantrum when it cannot control the anointing, cannot take the glory. 11 May the Lord, the God of your fathers, make you a thousand times as many as you are and bless you as He has promised you! Deuteronomy 1:11 AMP Here in 2 Kings 5, Naaman in allowing the flesh to throw a temper tantrum, when we have not labored to enter God’s promises but rather are gratifying the flesh and pleasing others wants instead to go into the nicer rivers to receive the cleansing not the Jordan. The two rivers Naaman mentions are Abana, which means to build, mason, divers weight, stony (Strong’s Concordance Hebrew Word # 71) and Pharpar, which means “rushing and rapid.” (Hebrew Word # 6554) Does this sound familiar! Man wants to use masonry to build his own kingdom rapidly and make it look like the anointing! Instead Elisha tells Naaman that he is to go to the Jordan and wash his flesh 7 times and he would be restored, clean. Jordan means to descend, it indicates humility and humbling the flesh, it represents crucifying the flesh! Therefore, when God is bringing forth His holiness, His glory in a ministry it is to bring forth His glory that no flesh shall be able to even touch the glory of the Living God! 7 represents God’s rest and His perfection! We can only enter into the place of God’s glory, His grace through His rest, where the flesh has died and the last thing we do is please man! We are not a freak show to be seen by the world in order to bring entertainment, but rather we are in the abiding place of God Almighty where the world only sees Jesus and no longer sees us! We have become the dwelling place of God’s Holiness, His Holy Spirit! Naaman does end up humbling himself after another servant pleads with him to listen to the Word of the Lord and not let his flesh win this battle. This humbling began in the heart to show forth true humility by Naaman going into the Jordan and washing himself seven times! It was an open display of God’s MERCY!!!!! Thereby, Naaman in humbling himself was able to appropriate God’s Grace, His power, being made clean! 15 Then Naaman returned to the man of God, he and all his company, and stood before him. He said, Behold, now I know that there is no God in all the earth but in Israel. So now accept a gift from your servant. 16 Elisha said, As the Lord lives, before Whom I stand, I will accept none. He urged him to take it, but Elisha refused. 17 Naaman said, Then, I pray you, let there be given to me, your servant, two mules’ burden of earth. For your servant will henceforth offer neither burnt offering nor sacrifice to other gods, but only to the Lord. 18 In this thing may the Lord pardon your servant: when my master [the king] goes into the house of [his god] Rimmon to worship there, and he leans on my hand and I bow myself in the house of Rimmon, when I bow down myself in the house of Rimmon, may the Lord pardon your servant in this thing. 19 Elisha said to him, Go in peace. So Naaman departed from him a little way. 2 Kings 5:15-19 AMP When Naaman returns to Elisha this time Elisha is standing before Him. When the Lord brings forth holiness the presence of God in us, removing the carnal nature (sin) out of our lives, the power of His presence and giving us access to His throne of Grace is abundant!!!!!! His favor, His grace and His mercy bring us into such abundance that money cannot buy it! It is the Riches of Heaven and not the riches of the earth! Naaman by the revelation of God’s grace, His healing power knows that there is a God and wants to repay Elisha back with the riches he brought from the King of Syria. Elisha does not accept the riches because remember the riches here, that which exalts itself above God profanes God’s holiness. Elisha after refusing is then requested to provide two mules for Naaman because he would make sacrifices to the Lord God and none other. The mules were most likely being used to carry the wood for the burnt offerings in which Naaman was to offer to the Lord God. Naaman asks for being pardoned, by the carnal nature when he would be with the king of Syria in the house of the god Rimmon when he was there to serve the king. Naaman asked for mercy and for grace for the king of Syria who worshipped a false god, the god Rimmon, which in Hebrew means pomegranate, but also means to rise, to exalt, get oneself up, lift up self, mount up. (Strong’s Concordance Hebrew Word # 7417, 7416 & # 7426). Naaman was stating that God’s mercy and grace would be there for others who were lifting up self, exalting the flesh so that they would repent and appropriate the true mercy, the Blood of Jesus to remove all sin, all unclean things so that GRACE was available! Elisha responds to Naaman to go in peace. The word for peace here in Hebrew is shâlôm meaning safe, well, happy, friendly, welfare, healthy, prosperity, peace, rest, safety, all is well, peace, perfect –such as to be at peace, etc. (Strong’s Concordance Hebrew Word # 7965). THE TEMPTATION OF GEHAZI Scripture indicates that we do go through fiery trials and tribulations where we also suffer temptations. 6 [You should] be exceedingly glad on this account, though now for a little while you may be distressed by trials and suffer temptations, 7 So that [the genuineness] of your faith may be tested, [your faith] which is infinitely more precious than the perishable gold which is tested and purified by fire. [This proving of your faith is intended] to redound to [your] praise and glory and honor when Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One) is revealed. 1 Peter 1:6-7. These temptations that we suffer are that which are in our own heart. 12 Blessed (happy, to be envied) is the man who is patient under trial and stands up under temptation, for when he has stood the test and been approved, he will receive [the victor’s] crown of life which God has promised to those who love Him. 13 Let no one say when he is tempted, I am tempted from God; for God is incapable of being tempted by [what is] evil and He Himself tempts no one. 14 But every person is tempted when he is drawn away, enticed and baited by his own evil desire (lust, passions). 15 Then the evil desire, when it has conceived, gives birth to sin, and sin, when it is fully matured, brings forth death. 16 Do not be misled, my beloved brethren. 17 Every good gift and every perfect (free, large, full) gift is from above; it comes down from the Father of all [that gives] light, in [the shining of] Whom there can be no variation [rising or setting] or shadow cast by His turning [as in an eclipse]. 18 And it was of His own [free] will that He gave us birth [as sons] by [His] Word of Truth, so that we should be a kind of firstfruits of His creatures [a sample of what He created to be consecrated to Himself]. James 1:12-18 Scripture indicates temptations are our own sinful lusts and desires; it is the carnal nature that is in us and gives birth, bringing forth sin. God wants to purge us of this carnal nature in order to make us clean and holy as He is Holy! In order to get a revelation of how greed can come in with the spirit of mammon to manifest the sin that is within the heart, if we are not guarded with the truth we can begin to build our own kingdom, that of the flesh, which is unclean and end up being removed from the presence of God eternally. Eternal salvation is of the upmost importance!!!!! In addition, there is a tangible presence of God, the glory of God, His Grace, which is available for those ministries that are not built on the spirit of mammon/greed of the flesh!! God wants to show Himself more to us but to the measure in which we have been purged of the carnal nature of self and are humbled is the measure by which He can bring forth His power! We see this in Gehazi. 20 But Gehazi, the servant of Elisha the man of God, said, Behold, my master spared this Naaman the Syrian, in not receiving from his hands what he brought. But as the Lord lives, I will run after him and get something from him. 21 So Gehazi followed after Naaman. When Naaman saw one running after him, he lighted down from the chariot to meet him and said, Is all well? 22 And he said, All is well. My master has sent me to say, There have just come to me from the hill country of Ephraim two young men of the sons of the prophets. I pray you, give them a talent of silver and two changes of garments. 23 And Naaman said, Be pleased to take two talents. And he urged him, and bound two talents of silver in two bags with two changes of garments and laid them upon two of his servants, and they bore them before Gehazi. 24 When he came to the hill, he took them from their hands and put them in the house; and he sent the men away, and they left. 25 He went in and stood before his master. Elisha said, Where have you been, Gehazi? He said, Your servant went nowhere. 26 Elisha said to him, Did not my spirit go with you when the man turned from his chariot to meet you? Was it a time to accept money, garments, olive orchards, vineyards, sheep, oxen, menservants, and maidservants? 27 Therefore the leprosy of Naaman shall cleave to you and to your offspring forever. And Gehazi went from his presence a leper as white as snow. 2 Kings 5:1-27 Here Gehazi recognizes that Elisha has not taken anything from Naaman and instead is sending him back with the riches which he brought. Here Gehazi has lust and pride in his own heart that he is tempted by the riches of man of the flesh and ends up pursuing it. (Note: I am not saying it is ungodly to be wealthy or rich; we know the riches of the wicked have been laid up for the righteous, but here the riches particularly here indicate that man is getting his wealth, it is indicating the power of man to get wealth, when we know that the truth is that it is God that causes us power to get wealth!). Therefore, Gehazi pursues the wealth of man, the power of man, the pleasing of man! We can see that it is in pleasing man that causes even more the manifestation of the temptations of mammon in Gehazi’s heart. Gehazi refers to two young men who are sons of the prophets from the hill country of Ephraim in which he is pursuing to get riches for, which is a lie but still indicates pleasing man, doing for man. What is worse is that the men he refers to are sons of prophets, indicating the prophetic mantel that is being profaned. Moreover, Gehazi is lying because he said that Elisha said it when in fact Elisha said nothing! Gehazi wants two changes of garments and two silver coins to go with them, one in each bag. Naaman does so giving Gehazi that which he asked for and Naaman met the request. After Gehazi gets the items from Namaan’s servants then he puts them in his HOUSE, that which is built for him and then returns to Elisha. Elisha rebuked Gehazi and instructed him that he knew that which Gehazi had done and moreover that it was not a time, indicating that something was specific to the king of Syria’s gifts, to be accepting gifts because the gifts were from a place that exalted itself above God, a place of the flesh and of man’s strength. It was showing that man was trying to act as God, act as though the anointing was with them! Do you see this?!! Because Gehazi had touched God’s glory, His GRACE (Naaman) a curse was brought upon him, the unclean was manifested in the natural of what already was in the heart! Gehazi received the leprosy of which Naaman had been cleaned from and moreover Elisha said that Gehazi’s offspring would have the leprosy, too! Therefore, all that is of the lineage, of the fruit of Gehazi (Ephraim- as indicated as a witness -2- against him in his own house –his own heart) would be upon those whom were under him! Do you see this? You are about to be blown away and remember this is still note 1, another note is to follow! Gehazi in Hebrew means “valley of vision.” (Strong’s Concordance Hebrew Word # 1522). It comes from two words. The first word means “gorge that is known by its lofty sides” (Strong’s Concordance Hebrew Word # 1516) and the word meaning “to gaze, to perceive, to contemplate (with pleasure to have VISION OF) behold, look PROPHESY, PROVIDE! (Strong’s Concordance Hebrew Word # 2372) Therefore, that which man builds up by lifting up the flesh, the carnal nature and tries to do rapidly building up walls of masonry, free masonry, that which is not of the Lord God, through what is A VISION OF THE LORD GOD, PROPHESY, then it is UNCLEAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IT IS PROFANE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Moreover, false prophecy, that of the flesh and of man is clearly unclean and profane!!!!!! Gehazi was building up his vision through mammon he had appropriated in a manner unfitting to the Lord God and this profanity manifested the unclean heart he had within him, he was struck with leprosy!! However, it was not only him but it was to all those in his lineage or can we say all those in the ministry underneath profanity, unclean ministers!!!!!!! A good indication of this is with Uzziah. Uzziah indicating pride of man, the flesh (self) lifting and exalting itself above the Lord God. 16 But when [King Uzziah] was strong, he became proud to his destruction; and he trespassed against the Lord his God, for he went into the temple of the Lord to burn incense on the altar of incense. 17 And Azariah the priest went in after him and with him eighty priests of the Lord, men of courage. 18 They opposed King Uzziah and said to him, It is not for you, Uzziah, to burn incense to the Lord, but for the priests, the sons of Aaron, who are set apart to burn incense. Withdraw from the sanctuary; you have trespassed, and that will not be to your credit and honor before the Lord God. 19 Then Uzziah was enraged, and he had a censer in his hand to burn incense. And while he was enraged with the priests, leprosy broke out on his forehead before the priests in the house of the Lord, beside the incense altar. 20 And as Azariah the chief priest and all the priests looked upon him, behold, he was leprous on his forehead! So they forced him out of there; and he also made haste to get out, because the Lord had smitten him. 21 And King Uzziah was a leper to the day of his death, and, being a leper, he dwelt in a separate house, for he was excluded from the Lord’s house. And Jotham his son took charge of the king’s household, ruling the people of the land. 2 Chronicles 26:16-21 AMP King Uzziah thought he could light the incense of the altar, that he could come near the HOLY place but he was not given the position to do such a thing and was out of God’s order. Uzziah’s pride caused him to build his own kingdom speedily although he had been close to God years prior and as a result his pride, his lust and his flesh caused him to build his own ministry! He was struck with leprosy because of the pride of his own heart, flesh cannot come near God’s glory! NOTE TO BE CONTINUED IN PART 2! God bless you! Robin Kirby-Gatto
